I Love to Read Month

A big THANK YOU to my local primary school and library! I had so much fun during “I Love to Read Month” which in my region happens every February.

I have worked at the local library as a librarian and facilitating an early child years program where I got to read LOTS of books to kids. What a blast for a book nerd like me to decide what to read to a school full of kids. I had lots of help from other librarians tossing ideas around. I settled in the end on a few absolute classics; “The Book with No Pictures” by Kim Novak, Canadian classic “Mortimer” by Robert Munsch, and first book in the “The 39 Clues” series by Rick Riordan. I had a whole box full of books that each class could pick from but in the end all of the younger students wanted the first two books. What a surprise to learn that they were already school favorites. If you’ve never read them, I highly recommend. There was so much shouting and laughing and singing along.

So, once again, a big thank to my local library for offering me the opportunity and for the school for hosting. It was an absolute blast. Can’t wait for next year!
